Precision in Practice

  • Studio Theatre 1501 14th Street Northwest Washington, District of Columbia, 20005 United States (map)

Precision is important in any serious endeavor. In sports, music, engineering, medicine, so many things, how you do what you do matters. This is true for yoga, too. In your yoga practice, sloppy or careless actions yield less than ideal results. Precise alignment helps you avoid

injury and gain maximum benefit from your efforts. Not only that, precision requires intense concentration or dharana, the sixth limb of

classical ashtanga yoga. Precision helps transform your practice into a meditation in action.

In this workshop we'll practice a variety of asanas to explore ways to refine your practice and discover how the subtleties of precise action can lead you to a deeper experience.
