SHORT COURSE:
Structuring a Home Practice
With Rocky Delaplaine
In this five-session short course we will cover a variety of sequences to help you jump start your practice at home. 7/8: standing poses, 7/15: arms and shoulders, 7/22: hip openers, 7/29: yoga in a chair, 8/5: restoratives.
Completion of Level I required.

SHORT COURSE:
Flowing Forward
With Terence Ollivierra
Discover the balance of flow and firmness. Find fluid solidity through exploration of vinyasa/jumpings, followed by grounding and cooling forward bends. Must be strong in standing poses and able to do Urdhva Mukha Svanasana and Pascimottanasana easily. No wrist, back or hamstring issues.

Let's Get Bent:
Backbending, That Is!
With Mary-Pappas Sandonas
Summer's warmth is ideal for exploring the physical, emotional and physiological aspects of backbends. Mary holds an M.A. degree in Exercise Physiology. She'll aim to shed light on some of the psychological and physiological mechanisms that make backbends so energizing and potentially anxiety producing, and on how to work with these situations within a practice.
Pre-requisite: Level II twice, no therapeutics.

I have turned this into a benefit class to help our former student and avid runner, Tom Mattson. Tom has a brain tumor that has paralyzed one entire side of his body. Currently his wife, Holley (also a former student), and his daughter, have to maneuvre Tom in the wheelchair over many steps just to get him to chemo! PLEASE HELP A FORMER STUDENT AND ATHLETE!

Julie Gudmestad Workshop
With John Schumacher
Julie, a certified Iyengar Yoga teacher and licensed physical therapist, is well known for her anatomy column in Yoga Journal. Her teaching integrates yoga, physical therapy, and Western medical knowledge. This workshop will cover musculoskeletal structures, vocabulary, and movement patterns in relation to yoga asanas. Focus on upper back, neck, and shoulders; classes include lecture and asana practice. Minimum of one year of Iyengar yoga practice. Not a therapeutic class for acute injuries.
